How It Works
Simple to learn, hard to master.
Concept
Ruction is a running and walking game that turns these activities into a territory claim. Try to claim as much territory as you can before the game clock runs out. Loop runs can both capture your route and the area inside the loop. Attack other players territories by overlapping their claims with your activity.
Activity Based Gameplay
Your activity (walk/run) disturbs the current balance. Upset status quo by running or walking within the defined game area.
Claim, Attack, and Defend Territory
Run around an area to claim for your group or team. The more area you cover, the more you control. Your run will capture the path you run on, and loops capture internal area. Attack other players areas by overlapping activtity with their claims. Cover the same route again to reinforce your defense.
Disturbances, Powerups and Shields
Disturbances can be dropped to upset the balance of power. Powerups can change the impact of attacks or defense. Shields can protect against other players disturbances.
XP / REP
The more you activities you log the more XP and REP (Store Credit) you gain. Unlock more shields and disturbance types as you gain XP. Buy disturbances and powerups and shields from the store.
Hills and Elevation are rewarded
The more elevation you climb, the more XP you get for a run and the more your claims are protected from attackers. Ruction uses your phone's GPS and barometer to track your elevation gain. Make those harder activities count!
Regional and Local games
Ruction hosts longer running regional games. You can create your own public, or private local games. You define the both the region and the duration. Games that players create can last from 30 mins up to 1 month. Your activities can contribute to both regional and local games. Create a quick lunchtime game with friends or a city wide game for up to 100 players that runs for a month.
Privacy First
You control your data and who you share it with. We provide robust privacy controls which are opt out by default. You can choose to share your location and activity data with other players, or keep it private. We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties. We do not track you outside of the Ruction app. We do not use your data for any other purpose than to provide the Ruction service.
